Commoners Alike
April 9, 2010
Commoners Alike has dropped a jacket and a shirt, so come get your hands on some. They will be online early next week.
Piecing together a tight offering of key wardrobe staples under the name Commoners_Alike. The name is based on ideology surrounding a separate, like-minded group of society; free spirited individuals who walk to their own beat. The brand was created after noticing a distinct lack of on-trend fashion basics for men at an affordable price point.
The collection is comprised of three fashion t-shirts, a shirt, pant, cardigan and jacket. All are pared back designs and while the ambiguous nature of the brand leaves it open for interpretation, each simplistic piece has a little quirk or point of difference; a slouchy pocket or twisted side seam, which sets it apart.
All the garments are produced using natural fibres, once again an emphasis on simplicity. The styles are classic and the austerity of the designs means the basic tees, shirts and jackets can also be worn by women. The silhouettes are relaxed and soft and not fit critical but rather casual and comfortable – perfect to build a wardrobe around. The meat in the sandwich, so to speak.
The price point ranges from $69-$300 (retail) and the brand is intended to bridge the gap between low-end and high-end boutique retail.
